Monitor placement is an essential element of an ergonomic workstation. There should be 20” to 40” between the user and monitor. Users should be able to easily read text when sitting upright. For best viewing the monitor should be placed directly in front of the user with the top of monitor at or slightly below eye level. It should be mostly straight or upright and not angled. The user should be able to be move or tilt the monitor to compensate for glares.
Multiple monitor mounts have significant ergonomic benefits and present a cost effective solution to many office environments. They increase productivity, allow the user to more easily compare information, and they are better for the environment (less printing). Users are better able to quickly and efficiently multi-task during their workday.
Ergonomic products like articulating keyboard platforms, adjustable monitor arms, and footrests can improve your posture, increase your comfort, and enhance your productivity at your desk. Here are a few simple guidelines to advance your position at the office.
