Sit-To-Stand Desks - VariTask Stealth Series Height-Adjustable Workstations

When it comes to adjustable computer workstations, sit-to-stand desks, and height adjustable technical benches, Mayline has set the standard for innovation. The VariTask Adjustable Workstation was built out of the concept that workstations should be able to adjust to meet individual ergonomic needs - whether sitting or standing. The VariTask height adjustable computer desk technology, pioneered by the Mayline Company more than thirty years ago, provides work surfaces, even keyboard surfaces, that can be adjusted for height and angle. Today, VariTask Adjustable Workstations are offered in a wide range of sizes, styles and configurations to complement the most widely used office furniture systems.

VariTask Stealth Product Specifications

Base Structure: Dual or triple drive-powered pods have stylized columns of 6063-T5 extruded aluminum with a .125 minimum wall. A top-mounting bracket is made from 9-gauge steel and is secured to the top of the column with four bolts. A designer support gusset made from 11-gauge steel attaches to the side of the moveable column with two screws that are supplied. The base legs are made of contoured 5/8" steel plate and assembled to the power pods using six bolts that are supplied. Up to three power pods can be interconnected, to allow for multiple top configurations.

Drive System: Electric 115 volt 60 Hz AC input / 24 volt D.C. motor. No hydraulics, belts, weights or pulleys. Dual drive system draws only 1.6 amps under full load. Motors have 225 lbs. Lifting capacity with 400 lbs. static weight capacity per column. DC motor drives a steel acme thread linear actuator with gear reduction. As the actuator runs, an internal reed switch pulsates which allows a microprocessor in the control box to run the multiple legs in a uniform and parallel operation. The reed switch emits 7 pulses per revolution of each motor and maintains parallelism of base legs within 1-2 mm increments. The torodial transformer has extremely low electromagnetic emissions. All components are U.L. and C.E. recognized.

Glide System: A full range glide system provides smooth operation, regardless of off-center loads. Provisions for lower glide adjustments are provided if necessary.

Travel Range: Units have sixteen inches of vertical adjustment from 26" to 42" with a 1 1/8" thick top. Travel time is 22 seconds across the entire range. (44" per minute)

Work Surfaces: Standard work-surfaces are made with high-pressure laminates on 1" medium-density particleboard cores. Flexible PVC "T" molding is the standard edge treatment. Rectangular or corner configurations are available in either a single or dual surface. Larger surfaces are manufactured in two sections and interconnect using Tite-Joint fasteners and steel hat-channels for support. Numerous color finishes available to choose from.

Paint Finish: High-solids polyester paint is 1.5 mil thick and baked at oven temperatures of 300 degrees F. for a durable finish. Prior to painting, all components are cleaned via a three-stage washer/sealer system.

Keyboard Mechanism (optional): A data center mechanism can be attached to the work surface to provide height and tilt adjustments to the computer keyboard. The unit adjusts from 5" below to 7" above the monitor surface. A full range of 21" to 49" is standard, and a +15 degree to –15 degree tilt is provided.

Warranty: Limited lifetime warranty against defects in material and/or workmanship for both base and work surface. Electromechanical components have a five-year warranty. See warranty for specific details and limitations.

Certification: Meets or exceeds appropriate ANSI/BIFMA x5.1-1993 standards and 2001 BIFMA ergonomic guidelines.
