The generous sleep deck accommodates a wide range of heights, while the back cushion folds down when the chair is in the bed position to be used as a pillow rest.

Narrative Chair Bed Features

The Narrative Chair Bed is available with numerous arm options ranging from our standard arm to fully upholstered, or choose from an armless option with wood panels or an upholstered side panel.
When used as a bed, the back cushions fold down to serve as a pillow rest, revealing additional storage.
Numerous components are field replaceable including the seat cushion, extended sleep deck cushion and the back cushion/pillow rest.
Wood arms are standard with PAT-Shield, a unique antimicrobial wood finish. This durable finish is highly resistant to abrasion and chemical cleaning solutions.
Pull strap for ease of extension to chaise and bed positions.
The generous sleep deck accommodates a wide range of patient heights.
Front wheels are stationary and add increased mobility. Rear casters swivel and lock.
The wall saver design addresses minimal space requirements.

Complements the broad Narrative Collection of public seating, tables and patient room seating.
Exposed wood arms offer the antimicrobial and high-durability advantages of Patrician’s PAT-Shield with Silver Ion Technology, wood finish.
The design features an opening at the front of the arm panel for enhanced grip and ease of ingress and egress.
Versatile mechanism allows for use of the chair in three positions. In addition to the normal sitting position, the mechanism extends partially to an ottoman / chaise position or fully to a bed position.
The design incorporates a pull strap for ease of extension to chaise and bed positions.
An upholstered storage area is hidden behind the back cushion and is exposed when the unit is in the bed position.
The unit is designed for ease of mobility within the patient room. The front wheels are stationery. The rear, zinc plated casters swivel and are locking.
The wallsaver design addresses minimal space requirements.
The chair offers a compact overall width of 34" with a generous 27" wide sleep deck.
Numerous components are field replaceable—including the seat cushion, extended sleep deck cushion and back cushion / pillow rest. Contact Customer Service for pricing of field replaceable components.

Chair Bed Specifications :

Exposed wood is solid PEFC certified beech.
Seat cushions made from individually pocketed 14 gauge coil springs layered with foam and polyester fiber.
High resilience urethane foam cushioning.

Options:

Antimicrobial moisture barrier application to the seat cushion, back cushion/pillow rest and the extended sleep deck cushion, add an additional $185 to list.
California Technical Bulletin 133 compliance is optional.

Wood Components

Standard with PAT-Shield with SilverIon Technology, a unique antimicrobial wood finish. This durable antimicrobial wood finish is highly resistant to abrasion and chemical cleaning solutions.

Ease of Operation

A simple pull extends the bed. There is no heavy or bulky mechanism to hinder operation or to break down in the field.

Seating Comfort

A specially engineered 5 degree pitch in the seat deck of the sofa allows for both comfort and ergonomics in the seating position.

Sleeping Comfort

Transforms to a flat sleep surface that features comfort, support and the durability of PAT-Coil seating technology (a construction used in the luxury mattress industry).

Reduced Room Footprint

The sofa extends from 34" overall depth in the sitting position to 41" in the bed/sleeping position- only increasing the depth by 7", therefore allowing for better traffic circulation within the room.
